We
added a second breed to our operation in 1991. Black Angus was the natural
choice because Herefords and Angus compliment each other and are the two most
widely used maternal breeds in the industry. Both can be successfully bred to
their own kind; are the base for most other cross-breeding programs; and make an
exceptional cross together. Our foundation Angus cows came from the established
and reputation herd at Thomas Angus Ranch in Baker City, OR. They are
predominantly AAR New Trend breeding and the length, femininity and overall
capacity of these upstanding females is something all cow men appreciate.

PR Travelodge
0051 is sired by Travelodge and out of a top AAR New Trend Cow. He
is a tremendously long bull with a lot of muscle and thickness and a
PAP score of 39. His low PAP of 39 and
SBA 06M's PAP of 38 have done a good job of lowering the PAP in our
Angus herd. Although many of our
foundation cows were own daughters of AAR New Trend we were anxious to
reintroduce his blood into the program through 0051 as well as access
Travelodge's genetics on the top side of 00151's pedigree. 0051 is an extremely consistent breeder and
his get follow his pattern. They have thickness, style, milk, good
udders, and are some of the best we’ve ever had. 0051's females
are doing an excellent job in the herd.

SBA EXT 06M
is an own son of N Bar Emulation EXT who is known for
his ideal growth curve, longevity and producing excellent
females with
optimal udders. 06M’s PAP is 38 and with PR Travelodge 0051, can
take credit for lowering the PAP of our Angus herd.. He's covered a lot of cows
since he was a yearling and each year he has held his flesh well.
The exceptional quality of his calves has earned him a lot of respect in our herd
bull roster. He had a 70 pound birth weight and his 3 year
old mother is a
high performing daughter of Thomas 7197 of 1418 and out of one of the
best AAR New Trend cow families in the herd.
06M has many good sons in this year's sale.Play video.

he’ll nick exceptionally well with our cow herd. His first calves look
good.

PR Travelodge 4006 is a stylish young bull who comes from Chris Pelton
in Kansas. His sire is a Travelodge son out of a top 6807 daughter.
His dam was one of the best in the Pelton herd. She was an own daughter
of the famed TC Dividend 963 - a real plus for 4006’s pedigree. This
promising young sire is another calving ease bull whose calves grow well
and fast. 4006 is making a positive
contribution to our breeding program.

SBA Travelodge 503R is another
thick 0051 son whom we're using on mature cows as well as heifers.
He's worked hard this summer, settled his cows and came out of the
pasture having grown. His dam is out of a 6807 bred sister and is
a great producer. 503R's PAP score is only 38, so he too will have
positive influence on our program's PAP. He's the service sire for
five of the 2007 sale heifers. We look forward to his first crop in
2008.
